Three years ago, ReWireU was created to offer ReWire’s missional spiritual formation process to a wider online audience. Since then, over 130 people in the U.S. and Canada have participated in 20 ReWireU formation courses and workshops totaling over 35,000 individual hours of live spiritual formation for participants. In addition, ReWireU participants have committed an additional 35,000 individual hours to personal reflection and formation using course materials.
The core curriculum consists of six Beyond Courses: More recently, ReWireU+PLUS was introduced to give extended opportunities for community and spiritual growth, including Deep Waters, Ignatian Adventure, and Synergy. Periodic workshops and guest facilitators provide additional online offerings for growth in missional living. All ReWireU classes are led by live instructors in small, interactive groups. Rather than seeing themselves primarily as teachers, instructors serve as facilitators of spiritual direction—asking thoughtful questions, encouraging reflection, sharing from their own journeys, and cultivating community. These ReWireU participants shared how classes have impacted their lives: The ReWireU course has helped me “unpack” some things I didn’t realize I have been carrying—most especially the trust issues I seem to have. I have realized that I was not fully trusting God in EVERY aspect of my life. Allowing God to “unpack” for me has been life-changing. – Amy H.
